  • Mystery Caves & Forestville State Park

    Mystery Cave is the longest cave in Minnesota with over 13 miles of underground passages. Choose from scenic, lantern, geology, photography and wild caving tours. Some tours are accessible. Forestville features a rugged wooded landscape with blue ribbon trout streams, 17 mi of hiking trails and 15 miles of horseback trails, campgrounds, picnicking and abundant plant and animal life.

  • Local Winery

    Four Daughters Vineyard & Winery is a fully operational winery, cidery, restaurant and event center. Their sprawling estate includes a tasting room and large production areas, as well as a 6 acre vineyard on the property.

  • Biking And Walking Trails

    Lansboro Bike Trails are 60 miles of paved trails. They are available for biking, jogging, walking, in-line skating and cross-country skiing. The trail is used by all skill levels and offers many scenic views and stops along the way. Here and (here) are some other areas to check out for additional biking and walking.

  • Rivers And Fishing

    The Deer Creek River, which runs through our backyard, is where one can canoe, kayak or go tubing with a group of friends. There is a starting point at our place and ends at Masonic Park, which is about a 4-5 hour float time.

    You'll often see fishermen with their line in the river fishing for bass. What a catch!

  • Bike Racing

    The Almanzo Bike Race aka the Gravel Race is quite the race! It was one of the first gravel races in the midwest and now Spring Valley has adopted it and made it their own tradition.

    For those of you that like racing of a different kind, Deer Creek Speedway is just a few miles from Rustic Valley.

  • Local Museums

    Here is a list of museums you must see during your stay at Rustic Valley.

    Mayowood Mansion is 40 minutes north of Rustic Valley, Wilder Museum in Spring Valley, Ed’s “Jack Sprat” in Wykoff, and lastly Pietenpol Museum in Fountain.
